Although released in late 79 this massive hit was sent as one of the biggest hits of the 80s I Don't Like Mondays  is a song by Irish new wave group  The Boomtown Rats  about the  1979 Cleveland Elementary School shooting  in San Diego. Take It on the Run  is the fifth track on the  REO Speedwagon  album  Hi Infidelity . It was released as a single in  1981  and reached number five on the  Billboard  Hot 100  chart.  It also reached number 19 in the  UK Singles Chart.  The song was written by lead guitarist  Gary Richrath .
