TAKEN IT ON THE RUN by REO Speedwagon MUSIC FROM THE 80S

Take It on the Run  is the fifth track on the  REO Speedwagon  album  Hi Infidelity . It was released as a single in  1981  and reached number five on the  Billboard  Hot 100  chart.  It also reached number 19 in the  UK Singles Chart.  The song was written by lead guitarist  Gary Richrath . "Take It on the Run" was the follow-up single behind the group's number one hit, " Keep on Loving You ". The single went  gold  on April 17, 1981. "Take It on the Run" has appeared on dozens of 'various artists'  compilation albums , as well as several REO Speedwagon greatest hits albums. The  Theme from  The Greatest American Hero  (Believe It or Not) " is a song composed by  Mike Post  with lyrics by  Stephen Geyer , and sung by American singer  Joey Scarbury . It serves as the theme song for the 1980s television series  The Greatest American Hero . The track was later included on Scarbury's 1981 debut album  America's Greatest Hero . The theme song became a popular hit during the run of  The Greatest American Hero . "Believe It or Not" entered the Top 40 of the  Billboard  Hot 100  on June 13, 1981, eventually peaking at number 2 during the weeks ending August 15–22, 1981, kept off the top spot by " Endless Love " by  Diana Ross  and  Lionel Richie , and spending a total of 18 weeks in the Top 40. On the  Adult Contemporary  Chart, "Believe It or Not" went to number 3.  It also peaked at the number 1 position on the Record World chart.

MICKEY: TONY BASIL

Mickey " is a 1981 song recorded by American singer and choreographer  Toni Basil  on her debut album  Word of Mouth . Written by  Mike Chapman  and  Nicky Chinn  as " Kitty ", it was first recorded by UK music group  Racey  during 1979, appearing on their debut album  Smash and Grab . Toni Basil changed the name from Kitty to Mickey to make the song about a man. The original Racey song did not include the famous "Oh Mickey, you're so fine, you're so fine, you blow my mind" chant, which Basil added. For years, it had been rumored that the name was changed to Mickey because Basil developed a crush on  the Monkees ' drummer and lead vocalist  Micky Dolenz , after meeting him on the set of their movie,  Head , for which she was the  choreographer ; however, this claim was denied by Basil, who has said she did not know Dolenz that well. Vienna i s a 1980 song by British  new wave  band  Ultravox . It was released as the third single from the band's fourth album  Vienna  on 9 January 1981 through  Chrysalis Records . It spent four consecutive weeks at number two in the  UK Singles Chart  without ever getting to number-one;  it was kept off the number-one spot by  John Lennon 's " Woman " for a week,  and then by  Joe Dolce's  " Shaddap You Face ", for a further three weeks.  "Vienna" is ranked as the eighth best-selling UK single for 1981. The single was certified Gold by the  British Phonographic Industry  in February 1981, for UK sales exceeding 500,000 copies. Nevertheless, the single peaked at number one on the Top 40 charts in many European areas including the  Netherlands ,  Belgium  and  Ireland .
