"Everybody Wants to Rule the World" is a hit song by English pop rock band Tears for Fears. It was written by Roland Orzabal, Ian Stanley, and Chris Hughes and produced by Hughes. The song was first released on 22 March 1985 by Phonogram, Mercury, and Vertigo Records as the third single from the band's second album, Songs from the Big Chair (1985). "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" is a new wave and synth-pop song with lyrics that detail the desire humans have for control and power and centre on themes of corruption. The song was covered by Lorde for the soundtrack to the movie adaptation of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and was remixed by Lil Baby (Titled "The World is Yours for the Taking") for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Written by Joey Tempest, it was based on a keyboard riff he made in the early 1980s, with lyrics inspired by David Bowie's "Space Oddity". Originally made to just be a concert opener, it is the first single and title track from the band's third studio album. The song reached number one in 25 countries, including the United Kingdom, and was certified gold in that country in 1986.In the United States, the song peaked at number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 18 on the Billboard Album Rock Tracks chart. "Faithfully" is a song by American rock band Journey, and the second single from their album Frontiers. The song was written by keyboardist Jonathan Cain. No One Is to Blame is a song by British musician Howard Jones. The song, in its original version, can be found on his second studio album, Dream into Action, which was released in 1985. Following the success of the previous singles taken from the album, the original track for "No One Is to Blame" was re-recorded to give the song a more radio-friendly sound. Hands to Heaven  is a  ballad  by English new wave band  Breathe , released as their fifth UK single on 20 October 1987, and in January 1988 as the band's second single in the US. The song was written by group members David Glasper and Marcus Lillington. The B-side features an instrumental track "Life and Times". Hands to Heaven" was Breathe's breakthrough hit internationally. The single peaked at No. 4 on the UK Singles Chart in August 1988. That same month in the United States, it logged two weeks at No. 2 on the  Billboard  Hot 100.
