"Everybody Wants to Rule the World" is a hit song by English pop rock band Tears for Fears. It was written by Roland Orzabal, Ian Stanley, and Chris Hughes and produced by Hughes. The song was first released on 22 March 1985 by Phonogram, Mercury, and Vertigo Records as the third single from the band's second album, Songs from the Big Chair (1985). "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" is a new wave and synth-pop song with lyrics that detail the desire humans have for control and power and centre on themes of corruption. The song was covered by Lorde for the soundtrack to the movie adaptation of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and was remixed by Lil Baby (Titled "The World is Yours for the Taking") for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Vienna i s a 1980 song by British  new wave  band  Ultravox . It was released as the third single from the band's fourth album  Vienna  on 9 January 1981 through  Chrysalis Records . It spent four consecutive weeks at number two in the  UK Singles Chart  without ever getting to number-one;  it was kept off the number-one spot by  John Lennon 's " Woman " for a week,  and then by  Joe Dolce's  " Shaddap You Face ", for a further three weeks.  "Vienna" is ranked as the eighth best-selling UK single for 1981.
